What Is Megan’s Law In New Jersey?

Megans Law refers to a framework for sex offender registration which is intended to provide notice to the public in hopes of preventing future predatory behavior. Offenders are required to register with their local police annually, report any changes in their residency, and adhere to more stringent notifications, such as inclusion in an internet registry, that hinge on their sex offender tiering (i.e. risk of re-offending).
