20K in Truck Tires Stolen From Jersey City Warehouse

$20,000 Worth of Truck Tires Stolen From Warehouse in Jersey City NJ

According to the information released thus far, an Ohio based company called Exel Inc. had over $20,000 worth of truck tires stolen from a secured warehouse in Jersey City late Wednesday night. It appears that several trucks owned by this company were being stored overnight in the East Coast Warehouse on Port Jersey Boulevard in Jersey City when several individuals entered the warehouse and stole the truck tires right off the trucks. The suspects were able to enter the warehouse by cutting through the surrounding fences. The surveillance footage shows that once inside the warehouse, the suspects began removing sixteen (16) truck tires from four (4) different tractor trailers. They were able to flee the scene before capture. In fact, the theft wasn’t even discovered until one of the employees entered the yard the next morning an noticed that the trucks were all up on cinderblocks.

At this point in time no arrests have been made. If the suspects were to be caught they would most likely be charged with theft of moveable property, burglary and criminal mischief. All three charges will most likely be considered third degree felonies. Which, if convicted, means that the suspects could be facing up too five (5) years in a State prison on each charge.
