Complete Acquittal in Sexual Assault Trial

Jason Seidman Obtains Complete Acquittal in Middlesex County Sexual Assault Trial

Attorney Jason Seidman

Middlesex County, New Jersey — Criminal defense attorney Jason Seidman secured a complete acquittal for his client following a jury trial involving allegations of repeated sexual abuse of a child over a period of years.

The prosecution charged the defendant with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. The allegations led to a grand jury indictment and exposed the defendant to a potential life sentence, along with the prospect of lifetime sex offender registration and supervision consequences.

During trial, the defense challenged the reliability of the allegations, the consistency of the evidence, and the adequacy of the investigation. After hearing all testimony and reviewing all evidence presented by both sides, the jury returned unanimous verdicts of not guilty on every count.

“This case demonstrates why the presumption of innocence and the burden of proof remain the cornerstones of our justice system,” Seidman said.

The verdict followed a prosecution that included law enforcement investigations, forensic interviews, medical examinations, child protection involvement, and grand jury proceedings. Despite the seriousness of the allegations and the extraordinary consequences facing the accused, the jury rejected every charge and fully acquitted the defendant.

The defendant, our client, left the courtroom completely exonerated.
