Andrew Carey is a skilled attorney with decades of experience in criminal matters. He is a former New York, New Jersey, and Federal prosecutor who has handled all types of criminal cases ranging from simple drug possession to homicide and matters of national security.
While serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of New Jersey, he was Counsel to multiple U.S. Attorneys, Deputy U.S, Attorney, Attorney-in-Charge in Camden, and Chief of the Narcotics/Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. He maintained a Top-Secret clearance level during his federal service.
Mr. Carey also served as the Middlesex County Prosecutor. As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer, Carey exercised authority over 2000 sworn law enforcement officers and was responsible for all criminal matters in the Middlesex County Superior and Family Courts.
Mr. Carey started his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where he was assigned to the Office of Special Narcotics. In that capacity, he was in the Special Investigations Unit where he conducted complex international wiretap investigations and was promoted to Deputy Bureau Chief.
Mr. Carey has received numerous professional awards and honors for his many years of public service. His extensive expertise is recognized by colleges and universities where he is regularly invited to lecture.
Mr. Carey graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the American University in 1993; and he obtained his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1996.
Today, he applies his extensive experience to aggressively and diligently defend clients facing criminal charges. He is dedicated to preserving the Constitutional rights of all whom he represents. His experience and advocacy skills are readily apparent when he steps foot into the courtroom to advocate for his clients.
