Attorney Paul Koutouzakis

Paul Koutouzakis joined the Law Offices of Jonathan F. Marshall in 2018, bringing nearly ten years of experience in traffic and criminal defense throughout New Jersey.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University and received his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill in 1994. During law school, Paul served as President of the Student Bar Association and participated in a clinical program with the Chapel Hill Public Defender’s Office—an experience that sparked his lasting passion for criminal justice and ultimately led him to begin his legal career as a prosecutor.

Paul began practicing law in the mid-1990s as a State Court Prosecutor in Cobb County, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. There, he received specialized training and concentrated primarily on prosecuting DUI and domestic violence cases.

A native of Essex County, Paul returned to New Jersey and passed the state bar in 2004. He spent several years teaching bar exam subjects—including criminal law, criminal procedure, and evidence—before launching his own criminal and traffic defense practice. Since then, he has successfully handled a wide range of cases, including DWI trials, domestic violence final restraining order (FRO) hearings, and numerous municipal court matters, achieving strong results for his clients.

Paul also regularly represents clients at New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission hearings, often securing favorable outcomes by reversing, reducing, or limiting driver’s license suspensions.

Recognized for his passion, energy, and client-first approach, Paul is deeply committed to advocating with integrity and determination.
