Union City Native Charged with DWI in Edgewater NJ
The initial reports indicate that the Edgewater police responded to scene of an accident early Thursday morning and quickly discovered that the “passengers” statements weren’t adding up. According to the “passenger” a twenty-five year old Union City male, the driver of the vehicle that collided with the parked cab, fled the scene. However, upon a further investigation, the officers were able to speak with the only other two people on the street.
They informed the officers that they were in fact the passengers it the car and that the original “passenger” that they spoke was in fact the driver of the vehicle. As a result, the Defendant was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, hindering apprehension, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and assault by auto. According to the records released by the Edgewater Police Department, the Defendant’s BAC was determined to be .14% and he was also found to be in possession of six prescription pills.
