Aggravated Assault & Attempted Murder Charges for Jersey City Man

According the initial reports released by the Jersey City Police Department, the victim was confronted by the Defendant’s wife in a local Deli about the $10 he still owed her for the synthetic marijuana she must have sold him. When the victim refused and attempted to leave the Deli, the wife called for her husband’s help. It is alleged that the husband picked up a tree branch and began beating the victim over the debt. The Defendant repeatedly struck the victim until the victim was knocked unconscious. Furthermore, witnesses claim they heard the Defendant screaming “I’m going to kill you” as he continued to strike the victim. Somehow the victim was able to regain consciousness and stumble his way into a nearby hospital for treatment. It has been reported that the victim has suffered an open depressed skull fracture, which has left bone fragments being lodged into his brain. A metal plate was put into the victims head to restore his skull.

The Defendant has been arrested and formally charged with attempted murder in the first degree, aggravated assault with serious bodily injury in the second degree, terroristic threats in the third degree, unlawful possession of a weapon in the third degree and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose in the third degree. The Defendant appeared at the Central Judicial Processing court and bail was set at $150,000 cash or bond.
